Water Your Garden Square

If gardening is your love, using harvested rain water or recycled water is the responsible way. You can garden without guilt! Using fresh water from the aquifer doesn't make sense for our future. We recommend you get the book "Square Foot Gardening" by Mel Bartholomew. Some of the watering requirements may be too low for drier climates but it is a wonderful reference on gardening that is productive, efficent, and attractive. A rule of thumb for watering gardens is "1 gallon of water per square foot per week" so your 4'x4' garden square will need 16 gallons a week. That is when it gets watered like "rain", if drip irrigation is used it may require less, depending on plants and soil type.
